For the first time in several years the Chair and all Staff of IUCN SSC Conservation Breeding Specialist Group, CBSG, as well as Convenors and representatives of the Regional Networks gathered on 1-3 March in Minneapolis, MN, USA. The purpose of the gathering was to strengthen, energize and inspire one another to make another big commitment to one of the most active specialist groups of IUCN. Every regional network developed goals and plans for the future four years and encouraged one another by sharing experience, tools, initiatives, and advice for implementing CBSG’s activities both within their region and on a global scale. The meeting was very friendly and there were nice breaks and social get togethers to continue discussing. All told, the event was very successful and plans for future meetings, conference calls, etc. were discussed. Sally Walker and Sanjay Molur are Convenors from South Asia and benefited much by the meeting.
